Hello,
I've been meaning to join up, but I just ran into a weird alternator issue so I figured now was the time
I've just bought my second Volvo, an 850 Turbo. While my 240 was great, I like this car even more. It's got 167,000 miles on it, and I plan on keeping it for a very long time.
Right now, aside from the alternator thing, I only need to get the cover fixed on the rear hatch (it's a wagon, and the cover is ajar so the brake light shines out) and fix the speaker grill in the rear (again, light shines out past the broken grill; makes it hard to see when I back up at night). So hopefully I'll find a good source for salvage interior parts soon!

Come on over to the 850 forum.
Also, my 1st & 2nd replies at the following would help you get the idea of what to expect:

If you plan to keep your 850 for a long time, expect some major repairs but after they are taken care of, the 850 should serve you a while. Make sure to pay extra $ for OEM parts.
