Hi Christopher, thank you. Having great difficulty using site, must be my age. I have a 940 celebration 1998 2.3lpt. Mileage in excess of 165000. Also have a C70 2.4t 2002. I much prefer the 940 although the C70 has performed well. Recently had high Battery drainage due to electrical shorts under the dashboard on 940. Two fuse blown initially due to prolonged leakage and finally instant blow to earth. Isolated 2 cables. Overdrive solenoid o/c. Overdrive relay now de-energised. Decided to fit od bypass plate which resolved issue created by shorted cables. However this model includes a pressure switch from auto sump to od relay. There is also a feed from D1 on speedo to od relay. I cut the lead from the switch and have noticed no ill efects. Do you have any experience of how this works as I have read on sites that lots of people remove the Od relay with no resultant problems. Would appreciate any advice you can offer. Have been servicing and repairing all our family bars for over 50 years. I wish I could be more familiar with this site.
