I just bought my first Volvo today. A 2001 S40. Hope it turns out to be a good buy. The seller didn't have an owner's manual, so hopefully I can learn some things from this forum.

I would get the owners manual. It is worth the money and you will want to follow scheduled maintenance set forth in the manual if you want to keep your S40 going Strong for a long time.
