Hello all-

I"m a relatively happy Volvo owner here with 94K on the clock. The car started making a whining sound today... sounds like a bearing to me, but the dealer tells me its likely the oil vent aparatus needing replaced... it's a module right on top of the motor that catches oil and allows for blow by as I understand it. In time the diaphragm goes bad and starts squealing. My certified mechanic told me it would be going soon (common problem) and that i shouldn't be surprised when it does. I'm hoping he's right! Anyone had any funny whining sounds coming from the back of the motor/firewall area?
