Hey guys! Greetings from sunny Los Angeles!

I'm JD, new volvo s40 owner and I've got a few questions... Car is not currently running and I'm trying to narrow down the issues.

1. What obdII scanner would you recommend and where would you buy it from?
2. The S40 had 150,000+ miles on it, what maintenance would you do on it at this point? It hasn't had a tune up in years apparently. So plugs and wires. Most def.
3. The entire drivers side windows and side mirror don't work. Is there one particular fix for all of them?

Thanks!

JD

Hi JD, welcome to the forum.

Check the owners manual for recommended service.

As for the window, the door switch pack is likely bad.

Most should work just fine. I have a ScanGauge and a cheap one off eBay for $60 that works just fine.

hey man, glad to see someone else on here from los angeles. check the timing belt and see if it has been replaced since that is the main thing you have to worry about. the door modules usually go bad on the s40s.
