Greeting everyone. New to this forum. My name is Jeff, I live in Sylvania OH, a suburb of Toledo and I'm a very recent owner of a '99 S70 AWD Silver Sand Metallic that I bought from a guy up in suburban Detroit just last week.

My daughter and I love these cars. It started with our purchase a few years back of a '97 850 T5 Nautic Blue Metallic with about 200,000 miles on it. It was a one owner car and we knew nothing about these cars at that time.

I remember the day I brought it home for her (age17), she kind of looked at it like "what is that?". But over time, she fell in love with the Volvo. It was "unique....like me" she said.

But it was getting annoying picking up oil from my garage floor all the time (blown seals, bad PCV), so when she entered college, we got rid of the 850 and I ended up giving her my old company car- a 2007 Merc Milan with high, mostly highway, miles. I thought I was doing her a favor. But no! She missed her Volvo. Talked about the Volvo all the time.

I ran across the ’99 S70 recently and thought what the heck. It seems like a good one, and it passed Robert's 5 points of pre-buying inspection (Thank you for that video!)

I've spent the last week listing things we need to address and documenting the history of the car best I could. The service records are impressive.

Some of the things that we'll be looking into - The rear axles were removed. I have them, but we'll see what's going on with that. Front brakes - already replaced them entirely, including the brake hoses (PITA), passenger side heated seat not heating, antenna doesn't work, front seat upholstery needs some help, its got that squeak in the steering, e-brake is busted, but it looks like that's ridiculous to fix (its an automatic).

Good things are the car has documented timing belt and H2O pump service, about 30k miles ago, Xemodex ETM, Bilsteins in front brand spanking new, sway bar link on right side is brand new, other side is tight, PCV good, good AC, all the electrical works (except pass seat heat, antenna, oh and the driver vanity mirror doesn't light). Gonna have to upgrade garage heater it looks like

Thanks for reading and I look forward to getting to know my Volvo and hopefully interacting with some of you on this forum.

Thanks! I posted a question - yes another power antenna question - but I checked, really checked the forum for an answer to my specific question and couldn't find one. Would one of you guys please see my post in the S70 forum and see if you could answer? Its a simple question
