Hey guys just signed up for the forum,I am a car junkie as a eat sleep and breathe cars! I currently own 3 vehicles which consist of a 93' Volvo 850 glt 5-speed 180k and still strong, 95' BMW 540i 6 speed, and an 87' Dodge Daytona Shelby Z 5 speed. I ama certified Volvo Auto Technician and have been wokring at the dealer for the past4 yrs, started when i was 19 and continue to go to Volvo specific training...it never stops! Well i hope to be of aid to this community and spread some knowledge.

 

Welcome. So here's a chance to maybe help. My daughter's 92 940 has a transmission problem that it wont shift into 4th gear - and the overdrive arrow light stays on regardless of toggling the button on the shift selector. I checked the #12 fuse and that/s not it. Ideas? If so, anything a non mechanic dad can do to fix his daughter's car...? thanks!

 

sounds to me like you have a bad overdrive relay...they commonly go bad, i would start with the simple things first

 

Welcome to the board. We have been in need of somebody with technical expertise since the resident expert has had some issues and has not been on the board lately. He is the one who has kept the board going and answered most questions. Hope to see you on theV70 and 850 forums, mostley 850 for me. I have a 9 T5R, a 97 850R and a 98 V70 GLT.
