New to the forum and a new (used) Volvo owner. Purchased a 2001 S40 with 22,750 miles Wednesday. Silver with Gray Leather Power Seats, sunroof, upgraded stereo/cd, spoiler, wood package. Nice car, I like it so far, and the price was right ($13k).</P>


Got it from an auto auction in Dallas, one owner off lease, a wholesaler friend of a friend who works on commission got it for me. Had it checked out at a local auto shop and everything is in great shape mechanical-wise. It has theoriginal tires that are due to be replaced in 3-5k miles or so, but all suspension parts are in good order and the tires are wearing evenly, so no alignment or CV joint issues at all.</P>


There are a few minor cosmetic issues: one door ding/scratch, passenger door wood trim coming loose, left fog lamp misaligned, a few scratches on the interior where the seat belt looks like it hits when you take it off quickly, a few stains in the upper left pillar on the driver side (possibly from make-up maybe? not sure). Doesn't appear/smell like it was a smoker's car, so good luck there.</P>
