Talking New to this site AND being a Volvo owner.

What's up ewveryone? Pretty excited to be a part of this community. This is my first Volvo and so far the 24 hours i've owned her I LOVE it. She's a 1998 S70 GLT. I've been involved in the German auto world my whole driving life, and am pretty excited to be mixed in with a new crowd (not that there was ANYthing wrong with my German buddies or rides) Anywho, I look forward to getting to know you guys and hope to make some new friends. Thanks all!

Nikki

Hi Nikki, welcome to VolvoForums. We have a S70 GLT as well and do enjoy driving it.

Thanks! I actually have a question about my S70. What does the S W E buttons do that are right below the shifter?

They control how the computer and tranny responds.

W = will inform the car to start in 3rd gear to reduce torque and help the car get better traction in the snow.
E = Helps the car get better gas mileage but causing it to shift faster and limit engine rev's for throttle positions less than 100%.
S = Causes the car to respond sportier. Shift later, downshift faster, etc.
