New Volvo owner from Florida
A little information about myself, I'm 18 and I already own two vehicles, although technically my father does because they're titled in his name.
My first car is a 1966 Plymouth Barracuda. You don't see too many of them around, even at big car shows, so just finding one was pretty hard in itself. I found her at the Turkey Rod Run (Enormous car show inside Daytona Speedway) and she was the only one I found the entire day. I ended up working two jobs and saving up all of my money and bought her with my own money for $3,000, an absolute steal considering in her current condition she's worth about $6,000. The only problem is after I bought her one of my jobs went out of business and the other was on a one year grant so I had no income. I drove her to school my senior year and that was fine, but now that I'm in college the trek is a little too much for her. She gets 10-15mpg and she has a few problems that I just can't afford to fix, so being fair to her, and my parents wallet (I wish I could pay for my own gas but I can't find a job), I decided to get another vehicle, which is where the Volvo comes in.
My Volvo is a 1987 740 Wagon with a turbo four cylinder. She's not perfect by any means, the previous owners were rednecks so there's a few problems (for example the bottom of the dash is held on by self taping screws), but other than a few minor problems I need to fix she runs well. I figure for $1,000 shes in pretty good condition, the previous owners apparently put about $3,000 into it with a rebuilt turbo, new alternator, redone heads, and a bunch of other stuff.
I'm glad I found this forum, lots of cool stuff here, plus noone else seems to be able to help me out elsewhere.

Oh yeah, I'll die before the cuda ever leaves my possession. Most people think I'm nuts but I'd take my 66 over any perfect 1970 Hemi Cuda anyday, but It makes the early A body owners a a much more tight knit group of enthusiasts, and I love that. I've already had someone offer me $10,000 for it, but she's priceless to me. I'm gunna miss the comments and people I meet once I start driving the Volvo, but it's ok. I couldn't tell the you the amount of people that have stopped me at gas stations to have long conversations or people who have asked about it while I'm driving.
I'm from Eustis by the way, not too far from Orlando but still a drive.
