Default New volvo s40 owner

I have a 2005 volvo s40 2.4i I've had this car since February and a couple weeks ago it broke down with a message displaying anti skid service required and engine service required so I took it to volvo and the tech that worked on the car said it may have been the wires said he cleaned them off and reconnected them and cleared to errors on the dash then a weeks later it broke down again after I did a hard acceleration onto the highway I was wondering if anyone may have knowledge on this problem as the car some time starts and acts normal then malfunction randomly I would like some insight on what I should do to fix it thanks

if an error message displays, it means a fault code has been logged by the computer. That's the best way to understand what the possible causes may be. My guess on what the tech did was to inspect the anti-lock brake sensors at the wheels and cleaned the hubs which can throw off the sensor. Sounds like a wheel/speed sensor may be acting up, but you'd want to get the codes to learn more. Some big box auto parts stores and friendly independent repair shops will scan for codes for free... (assuming you will return later to buy parts or have them do the work)
