Default New to Volvo and thinking of buying a 2003 V40

Hi all. I am a new member from New Zealand, and have never owned or worked on a single Volvo car before. I have however owned several Ford and a number of Japanese makes, but have never been a fan of Japanese cars, and have recently felt the itch returning again to get out of driving Nippon, and get back behind the wheel of something real. When my wife's 2005 Mitsubishi Lancer (with it's infamous 1.8 GDI motor) began to give us problems for about the 4th time in as many months, I showed her online a 2003, V40 that is for sale near me with only (claimed) 97,000 kms on the clock. In the pics the car looks great. The car's VIN number is xxxxx29xxxxxxxxxx, which I believe means it has the turbo charged B4204T3 engine. So, I'm interested to know what the Volvo drivers out there think of their older V40's especially those with this motor, who have done a few miles in one.
