Default New XC90

Hi all,

I picked up my 2014 XC90 last night. I love how Volvo is so safe. My mom drove a 240DL back in the 80s, it saved her life when a cement truck driver ran a red light at 45mph. Not many cars out there are as safe. Anyhow, the color way I wanted didn't have all the options I wanted, so I want to hook it up with navi / rear view camera / dvd. Hope I can contribute to the forum with some upgrades.

For those who are in the market for a new XC90, contrary to what edmunds / automotive / any other review are out there, the 2014 model is still a fantastic ride. Thanks to the negative articles out there, I just got the car I wanted deeply discounted, it's a great time to buy this car.

Welcome aboard! The legendary safety was a huge reason we just bought our Volvo as well. Sounds like you made a great choice.

I'm interested in a 2014 XC90. I am wondering how much off MSRP the dealer gave you? I would like at least $5k off. Also, where are you located? Like you, I can't find the exact color/combo I want.

Currently, dealers are starting the conversation at $5k off MSRP + 50k warranty + 50k service - nothing new there, it's all over Volvo's website. Don't take anything less than that. I was able to get $5500 off MSRP with 1.99% interest with no prepayment penalty if I pay it off. I believe I could have negotiated even more of a discount, but I opted to settle on a price I was happy to pay without wasting too much more time or energy. I bought mine from Volvo of Orange County in CA.

Inventory from what I can tell online has not moved since I started to look (over 1 month). I imagine dealer holdback is at its max for all the XC90s now. Dealer holdback + $5k Volvo discount is what you're most likely able to negotiate. Don't bother with a lease, their residual starts at 45% with 4% interest, not worth it, not even close.

Good luck!
