Default Newb to Forum, Newb to Volvo

As the subject says, Im new to the forum, and new to Volvo's.

Im buying a buddies 2001 S40 1.9T. Its a blast to drive, great pick up, the lag is noticable, yet pretty smooth. I wonder what the Swede's were thinking when they designed the cup holder, or lack of multiple cupholders[sm=smiley5.gif]. Looking around the forum I see that Coils are a problem in the heat (considering Im on So Cal heat is an issue). My friend and I literally dropped the S40 off at the dealership this morning because of the coil issue. Are there any other issues that I should look out for?

Welcome, You got a pretty nice car there, at least I think so. I have had mine for about a year now and really enjoy driving it. As far as to low boost pressure goes either you like it or you swap the turbo it seems. I have seem quite a few with Mitsubishi turbos. If you have a look at the S40 forum there are alot of discussions about your car.

Also the cup hold does suck, along with the speakers. My old lady has to hold her coffee while i drive. The other thing I noticed was with the cup holder out and a coffee it it the cd wont come out of the deck.

Good luck, and enjoy.
