New owner of an older model here. 1989 240 DL. Actually, I bought it for my 16 y/o daughter, but I figure that with it being an older car, I'd better strike up a relationship with all of you since I am sure that I'll be needing your technical advice.

So far, so good with the car. Looks good, runs well, except for a tranny kick-down problem that a member has already helped me with.

I never paid much attention to Volvos in the past, but I'm really impressed with the sturdiness of these cars. Really built for the long haul. Decent gas mileage too.
