Default newbe vibration update.

On may 6th i posted a thread about my 2001 v70 vibration issue. In addition to rattling the engine heat shield, it creates a buzzing sound that appeared to come from behind the instrument cluster. After picking up my nine year old from school today and poking around the dash while driving trying to stop the dash buzz, my son asked what i was doing. When i toldhim, he laughed and asked me to stop kidding around becausehe knew it was coming from the sunroof. Ipolked around the sunroof and was pretty surprised to find that the noise was indeed coming from the roof area and it stopped when i put pressure on the overhead light module. Go figure.
Tomorrow I'll fix it and then have him crawal underneath the car to locate that darn vibration.

Oh man I hate when that happens. I will be poking around for some noise in the car and my wife will say it's coming for here not there. It just sounds different sitting on the passenger side vs. the driver's side I guess. I hardly ever ride in the passenger seat.

I think tightening the 4 screws and have the proper height on the front and rear edge of the sunroof is all that can be done easily. I didn't see anyway to tighten the loose linkages when I looked at mine. If you find someway, love to hear it. Here is some info on my sunroof rattle

Thanks for your responses (i'm not suer if I should have posted a "fast reply" or post this way. Please bare with me as I figureforum portocalout). Funny hownoises travel arounda vehicle from their place of origins. I guess the matto of the story istwo heads are better than one.It turns out all I needed to do was add some felt insulationto the maplight overhead unit;sunroof is lined-up ok. The vibration at 1300 rpm is still there, though. I'm thinking the source is coming from the driver side axle becauseit doesn't happen when there is no load on the driveline, and rubber mounts seem ok. Will tackle itthis weekend unless somebody talks meout of it. Any thoughts appreciated.
