Newbie - 89 240 Sedan
Hello, just introducing myself. Found the forum in a google search, looking for info on my 89 240 DL Sedan (automatic), have had it for about a year. You've probably answered my questions a thousand times so I'll search before posting anymore questions. Troubleshooting the mysterious stall when accelerating from a stop. Changed the fuel filter, fuel pump, while it was parked changed the plugs, distributor cap, rotor, put it on the road for three days and stalled again in the middle of an intersection. It idles ok, hasn't had much power uphill or on the interstate since I bought it but does ok, just have to get into it a little in the hills.
I took the butterfly housing off of the intake to change the TPS and the butterfly, TPS, and intake are all really gunked up, and there's a puddle of oil at the front of the intake. First concern is the engine, is this the beginning of the end. Second, is there any way around removing the intake from the engine to clean it enough to restore performance.
Thank you for your time.
