I am a hot rod guy I am into building old crap.... my projects include a '41 Ford Coupe and a '51 Hemi I will be putting into a '35ish Ford truck as soon as I find one. I am an Assistant Service Manager at a VW dealer in Colorado.

Anyways I am here on the Volvo forum due to the fact that my wife just got done blowing up her 1989 Volvo 740turbo Wagon. I will be posting in the classifieds tomarrow with some pics to see if anyone wants to take it off of my hands or needs any parts.

Sorry to hear that she blew it up.Why don't you just turn it into a sleeper?Just drop a carbrated chevy 350 into it?

 

it was just a car she was using for work.... don't think she really liked all that much plus it was a $2000.00 car

 

BUT it is a sweet sleeper.I know 2 people here where I live and they have the with chevy 350 in them.One is a sedan and the other is a wagon.I just thought I would throw that out there for you.

 

I hear of a lot of guys throwing 5.0L Fords in them too.... what all is involved in doing the swaps?

 

I know there is a company in California that makes engine mount kit and engine harness kit to install the 302 into the Volvo.I think they even have an adapter plate for the trans.If you go the Chevy way you have to custom make engine mount brackets then drop the engine and trans in and use the stock rear.
