Welcome to the forum.

I work at NRT airport in Japan and some of the co-workers are from Manila and they are extremely skilled in maintaining large airplanes. I enjoy working with them more than I do with the locals.

Come on over to the 850 forum for help & advice. I am not sure if the 850s sold in Philippines have the same specifications as those in the U.S.

Anyway, welcome.

JPN

Hi JPN

Thanks for the warm welcome and thanks for putting a good word in for the Filipinos abroad. Most if not all European cars sold locally by Philippine dealers are Euro spec (if I'm not mistaken). Although there are some instances that the buyer specifies the US version. Volvo's here for that matter are mostly European version except for a couple. My 850 T5 Estate is a US version by the way.

What are the differences between a US spec 850 and EURO spec?

Not really a big expert on this but there are a few differences at face value. One is the instrument cluster, the Euro spec has kph on the cluster, while the US spec has mph and a small inlay of kph. The US spec comes with cruise control as standard, while the optional on the Euro. Front side markers for the Euro are clear white, while the US has some amber on the corners.

At least that's what I've noticed with the local Volvo's where I am.

That's all, I knew that stuff. I thought there were some ECU differences too? I saw someone selling an ECU on VS and said that it was Euro Spec ECU. Wondering if there was a difference in that??

Hmm? Yeah I wonder if there is a difference there. Let me get back to you on that. I'll check with my mechanic. I got my Volvo from him I bet he knows, the man has 7 Volvos
