Noobie Took the Volvo Plunge - Big Time
Hi all. I'm very pleased to have found this forum. My wife and I just upgraded our cars and went full bore to Volvo. She has a 2005 V70 2.4 that is a wonderful car. We hot that one first, and after I had driven it a few times I had to have one of my own. So we did the only logical thing and got a 2006 S80 for me.
I'm not up on all the models, etc. Volvo has to offer. All I know for sure is these two cars are the finest pieces of equipment I have ever had the pleasure of operating.
The V70 is the base 2.4 engine, but it runs out pretty well. White with beige interior, moonroof, good radio and excellent seats. Why would anyone ever want to get out of those seats?
The S80 is silver with pewter (or something) interior and the 2.5T engine. It also runs out pretty well. Moonroof and all the other stuff including the wood steering wheel - very nice indeed.
We bought both of these cars used and paid what we felt were fair prices for them. The dealer has been there for many years and I believe will give good service and support.
Again, very pleased to have found this forum. I look forward to learning much from everyone here and contributing when I can.

I hope you find this forum helpful & enjoyable. Also, since both your Volvos must be still in warranty, make sure to take advantage of it, as Volvos seem to have chronic electronic problems (check engine light, airbag issues, etc that require component replacement or on-board computer software upgrade).
