old newbie
Hello everyone..haven't been here for a couple of years although my login and password still worked...so I feel like a newbie here again. Two years ago I had an '89 240DL Wagon. It was well taken care of and being from California,it had no rust.It ran really great and i decided to sell it when I bought an '97 Volvo 850 T-5 wagon that I still have.Just today I bought a '90 240 DL sedan off ebay...the seller is only 35 miles away. The car itself is in beautiful condition exterior wise and the int.is very clean but has some broken plastic center tray between the front seats ...no biggie...tomorrow I will go pay for it ,get title,keys...and then do the DMV thing on Mon and then pickup the car...phew...One thing I have noticed about older Volvo wagons' like the 240s' and others... is how road noisy they all seem to be.Both cars I mentioned above had great suspensions and yet every littlle bump gets amplified to annoying levels...so in my theory the 240 and other Sedans models would be a quieter riding car than the wagons'...so what all are your opinions on this...oh yeah my name is Ben but I get dyslexic and hence it comes out Bne so its' like an acronym for Bennie...ok nuff said...Once I get some pix on my cam then I will post some shots of the latest aquisition...BNE

RE: old newbie
Hi Ben,
Welcome back to the forum, I guess I'm a newbie compared to you. I have joined the forum in Sept 2006, and I've received great help from Moderator Tech when I had trouble removing the ball joint on my '94 850 T5. Since then I've been trying to give back to the community.
The forum has changed greatly since your last log-in. Some great new members have been added, as well as those who have been here since the forum has started. It has become the most helpful & mature automotive forum you would find.
Again, welcome back.
JPN

Hi JPN...Thanks for the Welcome back...I see my status has changed...thats cool...but I dont feel like I've really contributed alot to this forum...howevr with this latest aquisition I have a feeling i will be asking alot of help questions very soon...LOLI do have a love for the older Volvos especially those before Ford took over...as those are of questionable quality in my mind...Love Live the venerable 240s'.[8D]
