Hello all. New member here. Looking into purchasing another Volvo (have 5), a 2008 XC90 3.2 L AWD with 160K and wanted to ask the group their experiences with this model and the timing chain v. a timing belt. All info very much appreciated.

 

Yes the 3.2 has a timing chain and no it does not have a maintenance interval. The 5 cylinder models have the 10 year/120K mile interval for the belt. The 3.2 and V8s have a timing chain that doesn't require servicing. You can google "2008 Volvo XC90 maintenance schedule" and download the chart from the Volvo web site. As with any car with 160K miles, its all about how well maintained the car was so records are your best bet.
