Kinda fired up. I'm buying my grandmothers 1992 740 tomorrow. Funny thing is when she got this car in 1992, I got her previous car, a 1983 760.

Anyway, the 1992 that I am picking up has just 39,000 miles. Looking forward to driving it. I've been a VW guy (and still am) but I think I'll really enjoy this car for my commute,

Wow Wow Wow only 39Kmiles. That must be the lowest 740 in the country if not in the world. How comes it has only 39K miles. How is the condition of the car. We would love to see some pics man. Try to post some pics when you get it ok.

 

So I lied. The car has 39,450 miles. Picked it up yesterday, took her through a car wash, filled her with gas, washed her again, put a new stereo in, and drove her a little more.

Got the car up to 80 on the way home (wanted to stretch her legs a little bit.) I am certain that this is the first time the car was above 50 mph.

To answer the mileage question, it was my grandmother's, and she really only drove this to church, the store and the doctors.

Anyway, the car is in great shape. Paint is a little faded, but I think some good buffing will take care of that. The interior is a little faded, but I'll have to live with that. All in all, I'm really happy with it.
