Default S70 in Iowa

My name's Rob, I am a former Taurus SHO/Lincoln Mark VIII owner, I love the cars but the build quality was always annoying. I've always been a fan of Lexus and Volvo, and was looking for an older Volvo to find out if I really like the cars (I'd love to own an S60 R in the near future!). I tried to buy a saffron V70R wagon a few months ago, but the lot it was at sold it from under me (I told them I wanted to buy it, I'd be back the next day to get it, and they sold it 2 hours before I walked in to get it!!), but I finally found a dark green S70 GLT (turbo) in Des Moines yesterday, the price was right, so I bought it.

It's got a big dent and scrape on the front passenger fender, but its rust free (kinda a big deal in salt heavy Iowa) and it drives pretty well considering it has 150k miles. I thought I'd check on the timing belt tomorrow, replace the spark plugs, rotor/cap, check the brake pads, and I think a swaybar endlink might be broken because I keep hearing a clunk in the suspension. Also, I guess I need to get the radio code to unlock it because it just says "off" when I try to turn it on.

They sound like they're super reliable cars, and I'm impressed with how well its held up over the years. My SHO (99) had 160k when I sold it 3 years ago, and it was still in fairly good shape and everything worked on it, but the engine was impossible to keep running in top shape, constant electrical gremlins with it! Oh and taking off the whole freaking intake assembly just to replace the rear bank of spark plugs and coil packs (which were $120 a piece, x8!) yeah, not fun times! The design of the Volvo 5 banger is one of the things I love about Volvo's! - though I'm guessing some here may disagree!

If I enjoy it over the next year I'll probably try and find an S60 T5 MT to replace it!
