Saab guy buys a volvo
I've worked on and driven SAABs for the past 10 years. My girlfriend's tired 900 finally gave up limping, so we were looking around for what to buy next. I'd always liked the shape of the V70 and 850 wagons (like, s, so it surprised me when, out of the blue, she mentioned the same.
My SAAB parts guy does Volvos too, so I called him up and he said that yes, in fact, all his kids drove front-drive Volvos, and yes, in fact, he knew where we could get a rust-free V70 T5 for a good price. Best part about it? It only has 60,000 miles. We put it on the lift and it really did have no rust. I don't think I've ever seen a '98 like that. Perfect. A week later, first Volvo. Two weeks later, I join the forums. Car has a few mechanical issues from sitting around, but nothing too bad! Maybe oil pump o-rings, definitely a stuck sunroof cable, and the classic falling-off tailgate trim. I already fixed the display switch (DISC error) and changed the oil. I plan on oil-undercoating and keeping this car to raise kids with.
