Default Should I be worried about buying a demo

True Newbie here and a bit scared about getting into a Volvo because of reliability issues I've seen posted all over the net, and not having that experience with the Hondas and Toyotas I've owned. However, I'm smitten by the S60 2.5T and test drives just feel right, so here I am about to leap and need some advice. Volvo Dealer's offering a demo at $29,500 out the door for a 2005 S60 2.5T with premium, sport packages, wood steering wheel and ~6K miles...should I be at all worried about puchasing a dealer demo? Carfax shows a clean title, one owner which I'm assuming is the dealership since the car entered the US end of March 05 with no other history entries listed. Should demo cars get this much mileage in 6 months of sitting on the lot? Good deal ?

Default RE: Should I be worried about buying a demo

honestly, i bought one of my cars as a demo, with about 1500 miles on it...and i have had no problems that i didnt cause on my own...hell, i still have the factory rotors, with 55k on them now, with lots of track time n those rotors, and 4 sets of brade pads! (although it is finally about due for some rotors)

6k is high for a demo, as most dealerships wont let a single vehicle demo for that long..i would try to work them down on the price, and make sure that you get a warranty starting when YOU get it, not when they got it.

Demo's are usually good.

I would try to get them to knock the price down a little as well.

I would pass. I worked for the VW Group and from experience 9 times out of 10 it was not properly maintained. We used to beat the crap out of our demo cars and the dealers would say "VW owned them and took care of them". One employee never changed the oil and the engine died. If you could tell me more about previous ownership I could give you a better idea of the condition of the vehicle.
