Default SRS attention Urgent

Hi There, I am a new S60 owner. Soon after I purchased it I decided to upgrade the seats to electric ones with memory. My son did the job for me while listening to the radio "ignition at 1". After that the SRS airbag needs attention urgent message appeared. I was told that even if I had it reset it would come on again as soon as I started my engine as my car does not recognise the electric seats as it did not have them before so it is confused. Is this true?

All the seats have the SRS components. The SRS light should stay off after that.
Do the seats work now? If so then you should be fine with just having it reset.

Even with the key in position 1 for the radio part of the SRS system is working. Then when the seat is unplugged it will set a code.

The seats have worked from day1 but we were told we shouldn't have the ignition on when working on the car or you end up with messages. We were also told that because our car did not come with electric seats the cars brain was not big enough to cope and we would have to buy a new Ecu at a cost of about £1000!!!

Thats B.S. The worst that would have happened is you would have had to have it programmed to the car.
But if they work then just have the SRS light reset and don't worry about it.

These cars can handle alot more that what they come with before even having to replace anything.
