Default Stopping to say Hello......

Just dropped by to say Hello.I have an 89 760 Turbo and am thinking about fixing it up for a daily driver.I might have it sold but am considering driving it.I have to replace the trans. and the suspension is kinda sloppy. It has like 18xxxx on it but has been rebuilt before the previous owner bought it.
What is the bolt pattern for the wheels? I have seen 5x108 but isnt that like the bolt pattern on a Thunderbird/Cougar of the 89s-97s?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Welcome to the forum, I hope you have a good time here.

As to your car, I am not privy to 760, so please post questions in the vehicle-specific forum ( i assume you already did?) to receive better replies.

Good luck!

JPN

Well to be honest I have had a better resonse here asking a question then in the 760 section, at least you were honest and said that you didnt know.I guess its time to send it to the junkyard. Its ashame because it has a fairly new engine and spools up nicely.
Thanks,
Chris

Yes that is the same as those cars.
The Taurus also has the same bolt pattern.

Hi Chris,

Glad to see Tech (the top-dog of the forum) has replied to you.

If the 760 is equipped with timing belt, make sure that it has been replaced according to the service intervals or within the last 5 years.

I'm sorry that you did not receive better relies in the 760 forum. As I rarely go there, I didn't know how the situation was. If you can receive better replies here, I believe it may be OK (though other moderators may not approve, in which case you can, well, try the "Off Topic" or "General Volvo Chat" sections. Only the regular members seem to visit those forums, so they're quiet but you have less chance of receiving bogus/annoying replies).

I have recently become a moderator, and am aiming to eliminate sarcasm & rudeness, which we do not need here, as this is not a mundane, average automotiveforum.

Wish you the best,

JPN

Thanks everyone.Yeah JPN, I know what ya mean, I am a mod on a few thunderbird and mustang sites so I know how things can get carried away.I can pretty much tell you anything you want to know about Mustangs or Thunderbirds/Cougars but I am totally new at the Volvo crowd, no need to worry though, my mechanical ability is top notch.
