Strange sound
Hi! I have a Volvo V60 D3-2012, and injust start hearing a strange noise and it’s look like it’s coming from the engine and it’s sound like a “tic, tic, tic” very fast.
Anyone has any ideea what can be and how bad it is?
Thanks

does the tic change with engine speed? does it sound louder near the nose of the engine (ie where the accessory belts are)? does it go away when the engine warms up?
If it changes with engine speed, it could be something related to the drive belt/accessories (ie AC, power steering pump, altnernator, pulleys, tensioner or the timing belt idler/tensioner. If its not specific to the drive belt area, it could be a valve lifter, particularly if it goes away when the engine warms up.
When was the oil changed last and was the proper weight and was full synthetic used?
If its not specific to engine speed then it may be a relay or even a heat shield clicking as it warms up.

Yes it’s sound louder near to accessory belt and when I accelerate the sound goes away…i am nearly to the next service by the service history and when i check the oil ( it’s a electronic check- just a square away from maximum but it said ok)
it doesn’t look like the sound goes away when the engine is warm up

Hopefully it’s only that…otherwise it’s gonna be difficult to find out what is it…i will go to see a few mechanics…to be honest i was thinking is the came followers or the came valve, injectors…
from inside the car the sound it’s go away when I accelerate…I didn’t have the opportunity to listen from outside
