Default Sweety

Hi I am new to the forum and new to Volvo. I'm juiced about being part of the group as I know there are many knowledgeable folks here. I just bought "my sweety" from a friend. She's a 1990 240 DL wagon and has great energy, but needs a lot of TLC. I feel this car has soul and am falling in love with her more by the day.

I plan to do most of the work on her myself. I do have a buddy of mine and my pops to bounce ideas off of, but I like the idea that the forum has Volvo enthusiasts who can speak to specific questions I have. Anyhow, I am honored to be here and hope to make good connections with folks who love their Volvo too

Hi and welcome to the forum. I believe the 240 is one of the lowest maintenance cars ever made.

Awesome to hear!! I have never heard a bad word uttered regarding a Volvo. And it's obvious you have had great experiences with them. Just seems like a fun car to learn on. I'm a fledgeling when it comes to working on cars, but have watched my dad and friends of mine who are old-school "shade-tree" mechanics work on their vehicles. She is going to need a bit of TLC but I think I am up for it.

Oh, just look around here, there are a lot of bad things to say about them, however, that doesn't take away from them. Still nice cars to care for.
