Default Transmission Performance Low

Dear members,

After owning my beloved S40 2.0 Powershift 2012 a few years it seems she is starting with little things now. Recently (actually just after getting her serviced) the engine light stays on and then Transmission Performance Low and the engine cuts out. I then pull over switch the car off and on again and then the car drives again.

Needless to say this is an inconvenience and I am not enjoying my car like I should!

Does anyone have advice?

What codes are stored in the ECM/TCM/rest of the modules? You can view a code history timeline with VIDA - what does it show? That would be a good first step.

if you are getting a check engine light as the OP was - the next step is the same: Have the car scanned for fault codes.

keep in mind not all scanners read all code sets and proprietary codes - this is where a shop with VIDA-DICE is a leg up. Good idea to have the fluid changed and confirm the level.

Okay thanks then there's another problem the engine sometimes just cuts out while driving in very low speeds then i have to start it again makes so 3 to 4 times while im driving any recommendations I saw on another thread the same problem and they also said it could be gearbox related but for.me it's almost like it's sucking air somehow like the maf sensor but I can't seem to.locate it then I'm looking for the indicator fuse and the manual doesn't give information to where it is
