Hi to all, from time to time, a warning comes up on my dashboard saying "VOLTAGE OVERUSE- PLEASE STOP CAR SAFELY". With this warning comes a whining sound so what I do is pull over, turn off the engine, then start it up and then it's gone.

I also have a message that says "TRUNK LID OPEN" and I can't open the trunk. I don't if this is related or not.

What would be wrong with my 2007 S40 2.4i Manual Trans with 98000 kms? It's a Canadian model. Please give me your input which would be very much appreciated. Thank you all and thanks for being here in the forum.
