Default Volvo S60 D2 rear tires wear down and car pulling to the left

Dear all hi!

I need your help with my Volvo s60 D2, bought it new on Sept of 2012.

My car not only is pulling to the left of the road but it also wears down the rear tires and mostly the left one (the steering wheel for Cyprus cars is at the right side of the car).

I have done a wheel alignment and tire balancing (it’s the third time I am having a wheel alignment) but the problem keeps going on!! I have to change the rear tires every 6 months!!!

My cars has now 100000miles and 90% of my driving routes is on the highway. The factory tires that the car came with (continental ones) gave me 50000miles. But now i have to change the rear ones almost every 12000miles, because my car wears down the rear tires for a reason i cannot understand!!!

Can you please tell me what I can do to fix these problemssss?

Thank you!

Sounds like you still have an alignment problem. Any noises (ie brakes, wheel bearing)? Has your mechanic checked for worn suspension parts - bushings, tie rod ends? Has the car been in an accident which could have bent a suspension component (I've seen struts get bent as well as sub-frames etc). Did the same shop do the alignment? Did they do a full four point alignment on proper equipment for your model? My guess is they aligned the front wheels but your rear wheels may be at fault.

mt6127,

No, no noises and no accident involved in. The car hasn't been checked for worn suspension parts - bushings, tie rod ends.
The first alignment was done at an authorized volvo garage when I changed all 4 tires, due to normal road damage and to tell you the truth it was after this that the car began to worn down the rear tires! The rest of the alignments I did to other garages. Next Friday I booked an alignment appointment to the second mechanic hoping that this time we will be able to understand why i keep having this problem!

I will tell you what the new alignment will show.

Thanks for your help!
