The P2121 and P2122 are related to the drive-by-wire set up which uses a throttle position sensor to feed into an electronic throttle mechanism (aka ETM). Some further tests may be required as it could be a relay/fuse, wiring/connector, the position sensor or the ETM at fault. To diagnose ETM issues, check out Xemodex's web site (they repair wonky ETMs). Also here's a good dicussion thread https://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/fo...ic.php?t=92510 You should also check out your system's voltage as low voltage events can cause odd error codes.

As to the P0234, that's an over boost fault that gets set when the boost pressure is like 5 PSI over expected for more than 5 seconds. Could be a waste gate issue, a pressure sensor issue or could be electrical/wiring to a sensor or computer. That's one where I'd clear the code and see if it returns.

Turbo/non turbo? 2002 non turbo throttle modules - all will fail. 2002 turbo is a bosch, rarely will fail but has external wiring problems. What do you have?

to determine if parts are interchangeable start by using a dealer web store or a Volvo friendly web site to see what part numbers they list for the two engines you can also try to find an OEM part number right on the component itself.

Yep, sorry, tried to warn you - from my experience - there's a connection problem - perhaps that's why the xemodex throttle - (link from earlier) comes with a wiring harness. (because it's not the throttle that's the problem in the first place - it's a wiring/connection problem)

was wondering if i would bring it to a mechanic if it would be something that would be too expensive for a mechanic to find the wiring problem or they would be able to find it easy i dont want to have a huge bill after i get them to find it.
