After having s/h g/box fitted my xc 90 has been in garage for 2 weeks due to l/h drive shaft not fitting donor g/box. original shaft has 36 splines on diff end & 40 splines on hub end. Shaft needed would have 28 splines on diff end, I suspect g/box could be from xc60 or xc70 ?. I cannot source a shaft with 28 splines on diff end from anywhere. Could anyone out there please help, my garage bill is mounting. Thanks for reading this desperate message, Ron hart.

 

Who sourced this "good used" (i'm guessing) transmission? Does the right axle fit?

Hi, thanks for reply, yes vehicle is awd auto. r/h shaft fits but not l/h. It has 28 splines in l/h side of g/box. I hope you can help.
