Hey everyone!!

So my first car was an '88 760 turbo wagon. it still runs, incredibly tough. a few years later I got a '94 850 T5 turbo and loved it! Had to let it go because I was moving to a rural area and it's lack of ground clearance was not good for the rough roads I was driving on (I had cracked it's radiator on a big bump once already at that point).

So now I'm looking for another used Volvo. I want turbo, good mileage, better ground clearance than the 850s, very safe, and a tough, low-maintenance engine.

I was thinking a used XC90 6 cyl twin turbo. I've read that some XC90s don't make very good power, and don't get great mileage either. I loved my 850 but need something further off the ground. How do V70s, XC90s and XC70s measure up to what I want out of a Volvo??

Welcome to the forum. Can't really help you as we had an 850 and an S60, not the ones you're asking about now.

 

Think I'll just get another 850 T5. Seeing some 850Rs for sale, tempting to get one

 

Might want to take a look at the S60R's. Turbo, plenty of power, etc.

 

We had an 02 V70XC that gave many years of trouble free service. If you want the ground clearence and the ability to mod/make more power, this would be my choice.

 

Good to hear! don't 850s and v70s get better mileage though? How do 850s and V70s compare? V70s have a T5 motor, right?
