18 months ago the digital instrumentation on my dashboard quit working. No speedo, tach, temp., time, gear indicator, etc. dealer wanted $1400 to repair. My trusty independent (Precision Motors) wanted $700 to send it out & have it repaired, so I got online and found SOUTHERN ELECTRONICS INC. For $299 including shipping, they cured my sick dash. They warranted it for one year, and in 18 months My gear indicator quadrant went dark. Fearing another $299 bill I emailed them and they said to ship it and they would see what they could do. 7 days later I received my working dashboard and there was NO CHARGE!! These folks are WONDERFUL to do business with!
I understand these dash problems are common in older 70 & 80 series Volvos. The dashboard comes out in 5 minutes. Just 4 screws after removing trim panel. Vehicle will run without dash, but cruise, power windows, sunroof, directionals,high beam, and remotes won't work.
