Default Boost Control

I've been looking into getting an electronic boost control for my 1998 S70 T5. Does anybody have one, and if so do you have any suggestions on which to buy, and what psi to run?

Well on the T5 atock your running like 10PSI right? I would up it to like 15 PSI at the most.

Also I do reccomend that you do not use a MBC. I would get a ECU upgrade, which is a lot better and can control the boost better.

If he's going to be using a electronic boost controller, how is he going to use a MBC and why?!

He said not to use an MBC, so there is no explanation of how to use it. But who really cares as the original topic is over one and a half years old.

That's exactly my point, why would you use both an EBC and a MBC?

He said not to use an electronic or manual boost control. What he and others have said is to get an ECU upgrade for newer Volvos.

AHh you are correct. Nothing wrong with using a MBC or and EBC. It's only on Me7 or Me9 cars that really you just can't use either of them on. There are a lot of benefits from runing a MBC, smoother boost curve etc.. Just don't do it without a guage..

Do NOT get a manual boost controller....one word... JUNK!...save your $ and pick up a good Electronic Boost Controller. On a MBC there is no selonoid to control the wastegate, often leading to boost spikes etc... save your $ and your $ EBC or ROM tune!

Check out Greddys Profec B Spec II manual boost controller, you can pick one up for around 330.00 new. Great EBC for the $!
