Default Did wastegate preload, no wot

So, im new here and this will be my frist post. I have a 2007 C30 turbo. i tightend up my preload on my wastegate spring to get a little bit more response from the car. it worked really good. The problem is i have a data logger and when i was reading the logs the car is not getting 100% throttle, its only reading 85%. i did some pulls in all the gears and no change.

anyone help?

Haven't messed with a new C30 yet but how much did you move it?
Here is the Volvo presidure for setting it correctly. But it is for older cars.

My question to you is why did you mess with the wastegate? Yes you can get a little more response from the car by doing this but it isn't a good idea.

Yes some Volvo owners do this, but again it isn't a good idea.

1. A MBC is safer then messing with the actual wastegate. Now since ME7 pretty sure the new Volvo's are still ME7. ME7 doesn't like MBC's and will give you trouble.

2. An ECU upgrade is a lot safer then messing with the wastegate and safer then using a MBC.

Just put it back to where it was before you changed it. Should go back to normal.

Turbos is nothing new to me. I should metion the frist time i did this the wastegate arm came off so it was stuck open.It did not throw a code at that time. i just pulled all the ecu fuse's and ill do a log ont the way to work tomorow.

As stated before adjusting the wastegate can give you better response, but in the long run it isn't something you should do. Even if you know what your doing you shouldn't do it.

There are better ways to gain more power and response from your Volvo. Also a lot safer ways to do it too.

No change after reset. So i put the turbo back to "normal" and unhooked the battery. did a log and no change still 85.5%tps. so I ask, can you reset the ECU by killing power to it? or is my logger just shi$$y?

The key here people is even if you know turbos don't mess with the wastegate. I want to get that across to people. It might be a quick fix for some response but isn't the best option.

So don't mess with the wastegate people.

MBC and ECU upgrades are a much better alternative.

Always with using an MBC you must have an accurate boost gauge. So that you know what your boosting stock, then what your boosting when you use the MBC. Also know the limitations of the boost your turbo can produce efficently.

I have to disagree the worst you can do by adjusting the wastegate is up the boost to the point where the computer shuts you down, and at that point its almost imposable to get it that tight with your hand.Acording to all my logs fuel trim is good, knock is good, mass air flow is up, ho2s is in spec. i dont see any problems

With a MBC you have a really good chance of hooking somthing up wrong, then the wastegate sees no boost then its apinned turbo, and the computer can do nothing to save the engine.

Dont use my posts a plublic service announcement for your campain on wastegate safety.
And get a few 10second cars under your belt before you preach whats not true. when i said i know Turbos, I KNOW TUROBS.

Obviously adjusting the wastegate isn't what it is cracked up to be. Your perfect proof of this.

Disconnecting the battery should reset the computer but there might be a code stored in there.
That might not go away.
That will also explain the limited boost.
