Turbo in S60 - question - how long does it last?
I'm looking to buy an S60 2.4L L5 FI 20V - the seller says the Mitsubishi turbo in this car is meant to last as long as the car does... is this correct? Or is there a recommended mileage at which the turbo needs to be serviced/replaced?
change the oil every 3000 miles with mobil 1 synthetic or equivalent.
let the turbo cool for at least 30 seconds to a minute! especially after driving hard before turning off the car after you've gotten to your destination.
don't drive hard if the temp gauge is not horizontal(when the engine is not warmed up) and it should last for a really long time. get in boost only when things warm up!

requires no maintenance, just change the oil on time and follow what i said above, and you will be fine.
