I was thinking about upgrading my V70. Exhaust/ECU/Intake. Could it be done? Running a 2.4 Light Turbo. Also, I cant hear my turbo in the rev. When I revved it yesterday it sounded airy like revving a ford van. I see videos on YouTube people running the same engine and can get a turbo spool loud and clear. Thanks!
That car was never designed to give any type of turbo sound. The air filter acts as an efficient muffler and the turbo was quietly added to give adequate power. In that era, Volvo made some cars with a GLT designation and they were non-turbo. Some turbo cars were not GLTs. Whenever I bought these cars in the day, I always opened to hood to see which engine it was.
The piping effectively keeps the turbo sound quiet as it was designed. I do not recommend messing with anything.
