hi everyone... i absically just wandering whether there is any turbo kit for my S40 2.4i . Or anyone done before this modication by putting turbo in this engine? I basically looking forward to upgrade my S40 2.4i into turbo and ECU mod to increase the performance and horsepower as Malaysia market don't have the S40 T5 version.Thank you

I wont say people have and I wont say they haven't but... I have yet to see someone turbo a non turbo s40. With that said....

There are no "KITS" on the market for Volvo's. You will have to piece together a kit of your own. Here is a list of some items you will need, not all the items you will need.

1. Turbo
2. Intercooler
3. Intercooler hardpipes
4. Couplers
5. Vaccum lines
6. Downpipe
7. Catback system
8. Exstensive ECU tuning ($$$$)

I guessing your going to spend at least $3,000 plus trying to do this and also countless hours of downtime. Where your car wont be able to be driven.

Secondly if you decide not to attempt this don't bother upgrading your non turbo it wont be worth it you wont see much of a gain of anything.

Truly it is easier to buy a turbo model then to turbo a non turbo car. In your case it might be the other way around. Do you have any turbo model Volvo's in your country?

 

It would proably be in your best interest to find a turbo car. After you fight to get the ecu to figure out the forced induction you will still be stuck with an engine that can not handle the boost.
