Looking for an after market air intake kit for 2005 S40 VOLVO
Hi I just bought a 2005 S40 VOlVO 2.5 T5 and I'm looking into buying an after market air intake kit. But Im looking for something thats worth it and does not **** up my car. I found a K&N intake but that ****ed up my saab last time so I am wondering if there is something else out there and if not will the K&N intake **** up my car. I know that the oil on the intake can srew things up so if it comes with oil on it how do I get it off without hurting my car. If anyone ahs anything that could help me that would be great. Thanks

AEM has a universaldry cotton filter (no oil), you could do that and a custom heat sheild.

Should have zero problems.
You have to realize that the forum and its members are not at fault for anything that happens to your car when you modify it or work on it yourself. Mod at your own risk.
1. I used a K&N panel filter on a 1995 850 N/A (ZERO PROBLEMS)
2. I used a K&N cone filter on my 1999 s70 awd (ZERO PROBLEMS)
3. I am currently using a air filter that came with my EST intake kit (ZERO PROBLEMS)
Just because I havehad no problems doesn't mean you will or wont have them. Again mod at your own risk.

I have been running a Spectre cone filter (oil)for the past 3 months with no problems.
You could have gotten a bad one(not that like but can happen), or something got in your motor when it was put on.

Good luck

I'll take both of your words. I just think it was somethign to do with saabs alot of people had trouble with aftermarket intake kits and saabs I was just unliucky enough to know about websit elike these first, because if I would of gone on a website like this one for my saab bfore I added the intake I probablly never would have put on the after market intake. Bu thanks for the help and I plan on trying it out so I hope it works.
Just a question I was wondering half the reason I am doing this is because I feel this will make my engine sounds a little deeper do any of you thing this will work??? Just form an intake kit?
