Default 2009 XC90 Rear Window explodes

Looking for anyone who may have had this problem with their Volvo
Driving home last night temp about 30 degrees Hear "explosion" thought
kids hit car with snowball. Look back and rear window has a hole in it and proceeds to completely shatter.
There was no damage of any kind on the outside of the car not a mark It almost seems like it exploded from the inside out. Anyone??
Thanks

...turned out to be a bad heating element in the rear window defroster. On a cold morning I turned on the defroster and noticed that the center part of the windshield wasn't defrosting (but the rest of the window was). A minute or so later the window shattered. Uneven heating of the glass from the failed element caused enough internal stress to crack and then shatter the glass. This may be what happened to you...should definitely be covered under warranty...
