Having been able to program new/extra keys for both E39/E34 BMW's relatively cheaply an easily i would think that i would be able to do the same with a 06 xc70. We're not talking about door locks an such, i want to be able to start car with new cut key so other than tearing apart old key to remove working transponder what are my options? Reason behind the question is i have the flip key that doesn't flip any more.....i hate that with a passion so had a new key cut (that flips) but now needs to be coded to car (two keys are better than one).

The normal method is : Using a VIDA subscription, (from volvotechinfo.com) perform a download that tells the CEM to accept the signal from the new key.
I have heard of: Taping the old key (with a working transponder) near the antenna ring -

And Does anyone know if the Vdash program from D5T5.com can do keys?
