Default Will 225/35R18 tires not rub if adding them to my 2001 Volvo s40

I have a 2001 Volvo s40 that originally has 195/60R15 tire size but have been flirting with the idea of swapping them out for a lower profile size 225/35R18 tire and adding 18" rims. My only concern is the extra 1.2" in width being added. They are the same in diameter just not width, so is there enough room to add these tires without causing rubbing?

keep it mind its not just the width, its the wheel's offset that's in play here. Wheel-size.com suggests a 7.5" rim with a ET42 offset (ET40 should also work) for a 225/35-18
