auto V manual
personally, i prefer a manual gearbox,i think itallows you more control of the car.also its a lot more reliable than auto and much cheaper to fix when things do go wrong, whats your preference guys.
The new automatics are amazing. We can't keep up with the quick and precise shifts (Ferrari's F1 is down to 500 miliseconds [:-]. However, I would much rather have a traditional manual over auto/F1.

I go for manual for the following reasons:
1. Reliability (auto-gearbox can go south quickly, once it goes low on fluid and unnoticed).
2. Low maintenance, except for clutch disk, pressure plate & release bearing and hydraulic system.
3. Additional (clutch) pedal.
4. RPM controllability (double-clutch, etc...)
5. Personal bias/preference (of course).
As for beer, I go for Irish (Guinness Extra Stout, etc...).
