i personally dont see the point in buying a movie. seriously.

think about it:

you buy a good movie. you watch it that night, or right when you get home, because your excited / eager, whatever. then it goes in the box. if you are a fanatic, you may watch it a few more times in the next following days, but most people, it will sit in that box till maybe.... month or two later. then you see it laying around, or in your designated dust-collecting area, and decide - hey, im gonna watch that... so you do... and it goes back in teh box, but this time, it sits for a year, maybe longer, before you watch it again.

my view: why spend 20-30 bucks on a movie your gonna watch 2 , maybe 3 times. if you rent the movie, you watch it during the 'joy' phase of the dvd, and takeit back, for 2-5 bucks. 3 months later, when you get the itch to watch it again, you can spend probly 1-3 to watch it again. take it back. never see it again, untill its on a network station, and watch it for free.

a movie is still a good movie, if you dont have it sitting somewhere taking up space. the only dvd movies i own, is the Highlander TV series (6 seasons worth), because im a highlander fan, and 'Original Sin', UNRATED, with angelina jolie, and an 'adult' video.

>.<

be honest, S70, when was the last time you watched:

The Jackal
Orgazmo
The Fugitive

etc

good movies, i like a lot of what you have

Hi, S70driver you have too much time on your hands....
I would never find the time to look for dvd's, buy dvd's, watch dvd's, or sit down and post
every dvd that i have, you need a girlfriend LOL...
Not to say i dont enjoy dvd's. but i rent them when i need to see one..
lets work it out you have close to 350 dvd's , in Australia dvd's range from about $20-$30 dollars depending.
That would work out to be $8750.00 @ $25 a dvd..
WOW i could find many better things to spend $8750.00 on.
That could buy you a good used Volvo...

1. The list started years ago when I had about 20 DVD's. And then I just kept adding the DVD titles to the list as I aquired the DVD's.

2. I have a girlfriend and we have been going out for over a year now.

3. I don't think I have spent over $25 for a DVD ever, unless it was for a BOX set.

4. I haven't spent that much money on my DVD collection at all.

I collect movies also. I watch the same movies multiple times. I think it's the good thing about getting older: After three months I can't remember what the movie was about and I can watch it again. Wait that might have something to do with some things I did when I was younger (in the 60's and 70's).

Of the movies you listed, I probably have about 35 on your list. I probably have a total of close to 300 movies, but do not have the time to list them. Recently I have got into DVD Live Concerts. My favorite is Roger Waters "In The Flesh" and Rod Stewart "Live at the Royal Albert Hall" is also pretty good. I also collect SACD and DVD-A high resolution surround sound music DVD's, but you have to have the equipment to listen to these. Elton John "Honky Cheteau" is my favorite in this category.

Speaking of which....are you much of a M. Knight Shamalan fan (I probably butchered that spelling but i don't care)? Not the best movie director by any means but his movies are chock full of artistic significance.

by the by.....I knew a guy i highschool who had close to 3,000 DVDs.......now that's overkill

I was most impressed with Unbreakable.....again, not the best movie, but the way he had no cut scenes between chapters, the significance of all the reflections, color choise. He did well in keeping with the mythology of comic books....if such a thing exists.
