Default Earthquakes in Japan...

I lived in Japan for about 4 years long time ago and we had earthquakes almost weekly. Most of them were 4.0-. Anyway, with all the stuff going on there now I decided to google map the are that I use to live since there is usually a lot of military there.

Anyway, I was looking at a street near the train station and see a 850 R around the corner from the McDonalds. It's a black wagon, maybe a '97. Not sure if you can see it with this link but I'll try.

Looks like the link worked. I bet there are several yellow wagons over there. Probably most have been crushed. From looking at the shipment chart, most yellow cars were shipped to Japan. Bright car colors are very common there, including pink. Most cars are white and black. Japan has very strict car inspection standards and require a lot of parts replaced on cars at the 4 year mark. This usually forces people to purchase new cars at that time, leaving very low milage good cars in salvage yards for non-citizens to purchase and drive. If you are not a citizen, you don't have to meet the inspection standards. I purchased a 4 year old Mazda 626 back in the day for $1,200 (US) that had about 6,000 miles on it (maybe it was 11,000), either way, the milage was low. However, when you have a car with 10,000 miles on it, it has the wear of a car with 5 times the wear because of the intense city style driving.

I wouldn't want to own a T-5R wagon from Japan with 35,000 miles on it but it would be fun to see how many are still on the road. I wonder is JPN see's any???

Strange how the Far East is so different than Europe. From one extream to the other. Both cars would have dramaticlly different wear.
