Default A extremely long story of a small incident

At the last meet (Ricekiller.com) there was a bit of an incident. This being a car meet everyone always floors it out of the parking lot and down the road. and where we hold it we rented out the road next to the parking lot, which is on the property, and Dallas police temporary raised the speed limit to 60mph (it's about .2 miles long) so that we wouldn't all get ticket's (happened before).

Well this women was walking her dog and a straight piped srt-4 had just passed her flooring it, and he left off and the BOV scared her. So the next guy coming down the street, a true RHD Boosted integra type R, who was only going about 25, she decided to pick up a large rock and chunk it at his car, which started a very very large fiasco. He slammed on the brakes jumped out of his car and started to walk fast towards her, about now someone said she through a rock, which angered us all since she technically was trespassing at the time too, she starts to walk away when a very large man steps in front of her and basically holds her there until the police arrive, and they tell her that what she was wrong, and since the rock was about the size of a baseball, that the teg driver had right to charge felony assault.

Well now that the whole crowd mentality had set in that she attacked one of our friends, every one got really mad. a Group of about 15 chargers/challengers/300's lined up at the end of the street and floored it by her and the cops talking to her to incite everyone. This happened with a few people, then insults, she basically now realizes that she has made a huge mistake and keeps asking if she can go home etc, but she damaged the teg and the owner was raving angry (i would be too, especially since he didn't put her in any danger).

Skip a few minutes and me and couple of friends decide to leave, pass by here, i got to edge of road and revved up pretty loud, and look in the rear view to see a reaction. And then as i was looking a charger behind me got into the gravel on the side going about 15 then floored it, throwing rocks back at her, then saying something ironical most likely.

In the end, no one got a ticket, she got a personal damage charge and had to pay for new JDM teg bumper from what i hear, he still wants to press felony charges, this ending my extremely long story. Sorry for length and typing errors.

I say the guy in the charger who intentionally spit rocks out at her is a big d-bag.

Of course she should be charged, but once the law stepped in, he was totally out of bounds, and if the rest of the folks there had any integrity, you all woulda gotten on his *** too.

I used to go on to RKC when they first started up their forum, but some of the people are hard to put up with online, I can't imagine what they're like in person. Some fairly cool ones out there too. Jared is kinda funny at times, but his rants get a little old.

Anyone who tries to inflame an already bad situation shouldn't be invited back, that's just stupid.

Yeah you have to have a thick hide to live through their forums, i knew a few of them since they were my friends brother's at the time before i started liking cars, so it's a little better than.

And yeah Jared stopped his embarrassing rants, he's gotten pretty big in the whole car scene now.

And the yes to the d-bag.

Wow...I went to one RK meet some time ago at Firewheel. Notice I say "Went" not "attended". If you get enough people together with cars, folks inevitably show their butts. Generally, the stupider people drive on public roads is inversely proportional to the amount of time they spend at the track.
FYI, police officers can not temporarily raise speed limits. It's not their job, and they have no way to do so. Traffic planners suggest speed limits for any given stretch of road and the appropriate commissioners vote on it. Perhaps the cops were turning a blind eye for whatever reason. That happened a lot back in the day but not too much now. Any police officer knowingly allowing a motor vehicle to operate in an unsafe manner becomes liable for the resultant actions of that vehicle.
So, on this occasion, we have several people showing their class.
We have moron one with a loud attention getter, er, BOV. We have a citizen walking a dog who chooses to toss a rock at a different vehicle...not too smart. Then, we have a bunch of teenage kids with loud cars, scaring the bejesus out of a woman who has already proven to be a dull knife in the drawer. Then, a squadron of cars choose to do a low altitude fly by while the cops are trying to sort things out. Wow...ya just can't fake that degree of stupidity. Sounds like they cloned Forrest Gump times 50. Lie down with dogs, wake up with fleas.
Think I'll stick to Keller's...

I got a ticket a few months ago for spinning the tires on our S70. Hard to believe they police let them have ANY fun.

As for lifting speed limits, I have one comment. BBORR, yea baby!!!

Hey...you owe it to yourself to go! Big Bend is an ongoing event. Rest assured it is not the local cops raising the speed limit there! Cops can temporarily lower speed limits when safety is an issue; the scene of a collision for example.
As for cops today not letting people slide; they actually do. 9 times out of 10, when you think the cop didn't see you speed, not use the blinker, burn out, etc...they did...just choosing not to enforce the statute. With today's dash cams, phone cams...if cops pull you over, you'll hold one when he leaves. When I was in college, cops let me drive home a couple of times when I was a bit under the weather. Vicarious liability suits have curtailed that happening any more. If a cop knowingly lets you drive drunk and a mile down the road you wreck out, you will both be in court.

It's a private drive, was not a public road, the speed limit was set by the place we rented it from.

For it to be truly private, it would need to have a gated entrance that is customarily closed except to individuals having business within. If it is merely a privately owned drive that one can access merely by turning off of a public street, then it is what's known as a public vehicular area. Property owners can post a suggested speed but it does not have the strength of law. Likewise, police can not enforce speed limits on public vehicular areas. They can enforce careless and reckless, DWI and any behavior which, if not curtailed could, in the officer's opinion, result in property damage or personal injury.

Regardless, I'm way past hanging with that large a group of youngsters. Mob mentality seems to kick in all too often...

Ahh...ok. Makes more sense. There were no speed limits to begin with.
